Biljana Jovic, a political expert from Belgrade, has been actively engaged in human rights issues and international politics since 1991. From 1991 to 2004, Ms. Jovic worked as a political specialist at the US Embassy Belgrade. In 2004 - 2005, she held the position of the principal political advisor at the special Office of the Government of the State Union Serbia and Montenegro dealing with the issue of Kosovo. Since 2005, Ms. Jovic has had extensive work experience in both non-profit and political consultancy sectors. She has been the president of the Belgrade-based nonprofit Center for Migration Studies for over 12 years, and, during this time, she has led numerous conflict-management and development projects in South East Europe. These projects have aimed at social justice, interethnic reconciliation and full implementation of human and minority rights.
